Getting there

Driving

Now you can take the N2 pretty much all the way to Hermanus, which is a beautiful road... but there is an even more stunning road. One that I think rivals Chapmans Peak drive, but without the toll and the crowds. To take this road from Cape Town to Hermanus turn off the N2 onto the R44, so you drive through the Strand and Gordons Bay.

This route also comes with lots of stopping points so you can make the most of the journey. It only adds about 25 minutes on but very worth it. See below for stops on the scenic route.

Transfer

Things to do

There is lots to do in Hermanus, here are some of my favourites.

Hermanus is famous for it's whales and that's obviously a highlight, but there is also shark diving just around the corner in Gansbaai, great shopping, surfing and hiking.
