There are so many great places to spending a few hours in and around Cape Town but here are some of my favourite. Some are open 7 days a week where as others might just offer a night market once a week. 

Thursday night - Cape Point Vineyard 

Friday night - Boschendal (outside of Cape Town but so worth it) 

Weekends - Hout Bay market

Open 7 days a week - Mojo market, the Old Biscuit Mill & the Spice Route (outside Cape Town).

 All the markets below are free to entry but some you do need to prebook a ticket. 

If you've ever looked up Cape Town on social media I am sure you have found this market! I won't lie it definitely isn't my favourite but it's so popular I couldn't not include it. It is a cute cosy market in a very convenient location right next to the V&A, just watch out for the prices! There are so many stalls to choose from and lots of seating at the back and to the side, it always looks packed but be patient and hoover for a minute or 2 and you'll be able to get a seat. 

Opening times: Wednesdays 4pm-9pm (Sept - April), Sat 8am-2pm, Sun 8.30am-2pm

Location: Breakwater Deck, Corner of Granger Bay Boulevard and Dock Road, V&A waterfront.  

A must do if you are in Cape Town on a Thursday! This vineyard is set in such a gorgeous location with the most perfect view for sunset. Thursday nights come alive at this vineyard as local businesses showcasing their crafts and food descend on the hilltop winery. Of course with this being a vineyard there is plenty of wine to sample and all very reasonably priced. So grab a picnic blanket, a bottle of wine and make yourself cosy as you enjoy one of teh many culinary delights whilst watching the sun go down. 

Opening times: Thursdays 4.30pm - 9.30pm 

Location: Cape Point Vineyard, Silvermine Road, Noordhoek. 

A classic for a reason. In Sea point a couple streets back from the ocean this is very easy to get to. This place is also open every day of the week, with coffee from 8am and closing late into the night. There are so many food stalls to choose from you will be spoilt for choice. From oysters to noodles what every you fancy you'll find it here. If that's not enough they have live music 7 days a week. 

Opening times: 7 days a week - coffee shops open from 8am and the bars open 11am-10pm(Sun-Thurs)/11pm(Fri-Sat)

This was the first market I went to in Cape Town so will always hold a spot in my heart. We accidently came across this place when we were looking for somewhere to go for a bite to eat after kayaking in the gorgeous Hout Bay - would highly recommend teaming these 2 up. There are so many food stalls and great live music, along with a few beautiful craft stalls if you fancy a shop. This place is worth it for the sushi alone, some incredible food and very cheap compared to the more "touristy" markets. They use to just open on weekends but it's become so popular they're now open 5 days a week. 

Opening times: Friday 9.30am -9pm, Wed, Thurs, Sat & Sun 9.30am-5pm

Location: Hout Bay - 31 Harbour Road, Hout Bay, Cape Town. 

Set in the gorgeous Boschendal estate surrounded by mountains, this is sure to be a lovely evening. As well as multiple food stalls their farm shop also stays open all evening. Obviously their wine is available and at the standard bottle price. You can also buy glasses for R50 which acts as a nice souvenir and practical to enjoy a bottle while watching the live music.
