Slovenia is an incredible country and I was just taken aback by its beauty.

I would highly recommend renting a car or like we did a camper.
There is public transport which goes to some of the main tourist attractions but you'll be missing so much of the country by not renting a car.
When to visit
When to visit
June to August is peak season in Slovenia. I would recommend going in shoulder seasons, September/October was great for sunny days, less crowds and autumnal colours.
